What Will make Our Candles Different

Let's look at the nature of our candles. Our candles are ethically produced in small quantities using eco-friendly components and packaging. Our candles are cruelty-free, vegan, and made without the use of parabens, phthalates or petroleum ingredients. We also make use of 100% soy wax that comes from sustainable agricultural crops within the USA. But what exactly is soy and why is it important?

Soy wax originates from soybeans (shocking isn't it?). They accomplish this by taking cleaned, cracked, dehulled soybeans and rolling them into flakes. The oil is taken out and the hydrogen is then produced. In addition the flakes that remain can be used for animal feed! The process alters the melting temperature so that it is stable at room temperature and ideal for candles. If being natural, renewable and biodegradable as well as vegan were not enough, soy wax typically has the longest burn time and is free of indoor air pollution.

What do you think of other waxes? Well, there are three different waxes which are frequently used in candles. These are; paraffin wax, beeswax, as well as coconut wax. Let's discuss them. Paraffin is, perhaps the most popular wax for candles especially fragranced candles, as it has a great scent throw. What is the reason why increasing numbers of companies switching to other waxes? It's because it's not renewable! Paraffin wax originates from petroleum, coal, or oil, and is carcinogen! We care about the environment and the health of our customers, in our company Brand & Iron, so green, sustainable and ethically-sourced ingredients are required.

Beeswax is a popular natural wax that works exceptionally well for candles in general. But, it has strong, natural aroma which doesn't mix well with other scents. However, the most important thing is that beeswax is created by bees (obviously), and as a candle manufacturer that is vegan, that's unattainable.

Lastly is the coconut oil. Apart from the high cost, it's also difficult to obtain authentic coconut oil. This is primarily because of how soft coconut wax is. Because it has such a low melting point, most coconut waxes are a blend, including one of the waxes mentioned above. While this in itself is not a problem, but due to the lack of transparency from manufacturers and the complicated language they use, it's nearly impossible to vancouver candle company discern exactly what is in the mix, and even the reason why they're mixed in the first instance. We're committed to providing an organic sustainable, vegan, renewable and ethical candle, therefore we have chosen to make use of soy wax.

We don't stop there. We use soy wax to create an eco-friendly and sustainable candle. We use a lead and zinc-free cotton candle wick which is non-toxic and simple to use and requires less maintenance than the wooden wick. What is it that makes our candles unique? We take our values right down to our packaging. This is why even our packing peanuts are biodegradable. in actual fact, all of our packing is recyclable. We also love encouraging the customers we serve to recycle or reuse empty candle vessels. We'll discuss some of our favorite methods of doing this in the coming month, so be sure to sign up for our newsletter via email to stay up to date.
